Teddy Day

We love our teddies. All sorts of teddies came to school with us today. Mrs Longman brought along the oldest bear of all. It is Mr Longman's bear. His name is Teddy No-eyes!
We have been doing our work with our bears today.

Happiness is...

What a great time we all had this morning at our Junior Athletics.  After our hurdle and running races we got into teams to do ever so many fun activities. Look at our happy faces when we were doing the sack race!

Toby's Mum took this photo of five very happy boys!

How to pat a dog

Jackie and Warren came to our class to talk to us about staying safe around dogs. They brought a black dog called Pluto in with them.

"If there's a stray dog, you shouldn't pat it," said Tiara.

"When they are eating, don't pat them," said Rosa.

"Don't pat them on top of their head," said Cody.

"Keep your face out of their space," said Felix.

"Ask the dog's owner if it's all right to pat the dog, and ask your Mum or Dad too," said Levi.

Some of today's stories

Today Mrs Longman showed us a picture on google. It was a monkey and a tiger. It looks like the tiger in the picture is trying to give the monkey a piggyback.

By Jacob

Here are some of our stories about friends and friendship that we wrote this morning.

I think that the tiger and monkey are friends because one was crying. So the other one came to help. Also I've got another idea. That other idea is that maybe their parents knew each other but their children didn't know each other. So their parents decided to have dinner together. So when the parents were chit chatting both of them were so bored. Then the monkey heard something! It was the baby tiger crying. It hurt its legs. So the monkey carried the baby tiger on its back to the baby tiger's Mum and Dad.

I think the monkey lost his family and he saw the tigers. He swung down on a vine and jumped down onto the baby tiger. And they became friends.

By Felix

The tiger and the monkey are very good friends. I do not know why. Do you want me to tell you what I think? OK, I'll tell you. I think that the tiger came under the monkey's tree to have a snooze and a hungry crocodile came under the grass, sneaking, creeping through the long grass, silently coming out of the pond. The monkey saw the crocodile and the tiger did not see the crocodile so the monkey called its Mum and Dad and they shook the branches of the tree and the tiger woke up and called the Mum and Dad. They ran over and chased the crocodile away and thanked the monkeys and said goodbye and then went home.

By Tiara

Once upon a time there was a monkey. It fell from a very high tree. It started to cry. It cried so loud that a tiger heard the monkey. The tiger came and said "Why are you crying?" Then the monkey said, "Because I fell out of the tree and hurt my arm." Then they heard a tiger and they came to it and said "What's wrong?" The tiger said, "Some big animals are chasing me and I can't run any more." So the monkeys said, "Should we be friends?" The tigers agreed with that.
That's how they got to be friends.

Keeping safe in the water

We have been learning lots about keeping safe in the water this week.

Life jackets on before we start.

Helping each other.

Knees up.
Feet first down the lazy river.

Hold onto the handle and pull up onto the boat.

Ready to get off the boat - backwards!

Off and away!

Under the upsidedown boat was a good place to be!
